Toadcap Spawn
My design of the Feywood Toadcap Spawn. I changed the colours and created the poisonous version of it. I hope you like it.
the resin is too pretty to paint
this was the 2nd model I have printed. I made a few mistakes with it. like not sanding it and the primer didnt seem to stick very well. I also stuggled in the way of im used to painting in sub sections. this printed in one piece so that made it a bit harder. I dont expect to win but im glad I participated because I got to learn and try some new methods doing this model. I gave her a bit of a back story. shes a centaur huntress that just shot somthing at night time during a full moon.
Day Out hunting
Thanks for this cool 3D model, Good luck on your crowdfunding campaign !
This is my interpretation of the Feywood Watch Tower designed by Iain Lovecraft. Printed in resin, painted with vallejo paint using grass from Woodland scenics and home made leaves and lichen. I imagined this to be long deserted. Now showing signs of weathering, and the build up of moss and lichen. This watch tower has stood long enough for vines to interweave testing the strength and craftsmanship of the fey folk whom built it.
Myrina was a centaur scout of Feywood, a defender of the forest and her people within. When the life-giving waters of the Grotto turned purple, she was concerned as the rest of her kin. The chosen scouts ventured forth to find the source of this corruption, and bring restoration once more to the people of Feywood. Unfortunately for Myrina, it was not soon enough. Now corrupted by the drow-poisoned waters, Myrina fights against those she loves and swore to protect. Will healing the waters and cleansing the source of the corruption be enough to save Myrina and the others? Thank you for the chance to participate in this competition! I had a lot of fun designing Myrina from the fantastic centaur model, and look forward to seeing more from Lovecraft.
Feywood Toadcap Spawn from Iain Lovecraft’s Feywood campaign Printed on an Anycubic Photon S with the ceramic grey water-washable resin from Elegoo. Layer height: 0.025mm Bottom layer count: 6 Exposure Time: 5s Bottom exposure time: 60s Print time: ~13h Painted with acrylics, photos taken on an iPhone
Just toxic
I really liked the nature theme that was shown in the original art for the competition. I did some research and settled on this cherry blossom theme cause I thought the vibrant pick and white would contrast nicely. It was really fun to paint.
i did the watch tower a bright green and black i was going for almost a mideveil feel to feywood forest style for the darkside of things it with bright magical green looking powers something different then the rest
Printed on a Elegoo Saturn and painted by myself, moimeli3d on instagram, it's some pretty nice prints! Thank you Iain Lovecraft! :)
The Feywood Centaur as modeled by Iain Lovecraft - entry for the Feywood print and paint competition
In a land nearby, from a time long ago, is a place full of dark and treacherous magic - Mesa. This land is home to the Tamnar Forest, the source of the magic that sweeps through the land. The forest consumes all of the Eastern marsh, from the mountains to the coast, dividing the cities of Aryland and Dukeville. Cities began to feud over the resources of the forest and its magic, dividing the people, and causing war. As the battles continued in the cities, some warriors began to love and admire the forest. They vowed to protect the forest’s magic and secrets at all costs. The warriors built towers along the tree line so they could guard and protect the forest. The forest noticed the warriors and used its own roots to strengthen the towers. The warriors and their towers continue to stand guard at all times. From Lain Lovecraft’s Feywood, This is the Watch Tower. The tower was printed on the Creality Ender 5 with a .2mm layer thickness, and 20% infill. There is no airbrushing involved and is painted with only craft store acrylic paints. 7 main colors are used and blended to paint shadows and light. With all of my terrain, there are secrets that are revealed to my group of friends. Disguised in the paint job are UV and glow reactive paints. Our DM only uses this for certain interest points in our campaigns, and are a serious hit to the evening. Following the entry rules there is nothing additionally added to enhance the model - no fake turf, minis, or additional items. Our fantasy is usually a wet, rugged forest, or ocean setting, unlike the real life desert out my front door. We are submitting 4 entries to the contest: 3 Toadcaps painted by my 11 year old daughter Arilynn, my beautiful wife Amanda, and mine, as well as the Tower that I printed and painted in a 48hr period.

Cities began to feud over the resources of the forest and its magic, dividing the people, and causing war. As the battles continued in the cities, some warriors began to love and admire the forest. They vowed to protect the forest’s magic and secrets at all costs. What are they protecting? The abundance of resources that the forest offers, such as precious life-giving plants. Among those plants are Building sized mushrooms that provide magical strength and resilience to warriors for battling the toughest dragons. The forest became aware and began to create mimic mushrooms to protect itself. Although they appear to be the same to the average person, they do the exact opposite. The forest also knew that its guardians would need life and created a way for the two mushrooms to be differentiated: an ominous glow on the poisonous variety that can only be seen by a select few. These mushrooms are a close resemblance to the Amanita Muscaria Fungus, which are in fact poisonous but death is rare. From Lain Lovecraft’s Feywood, This is the Toadcap. The toadcap was printed on the Elegoo Mars 2 MMF Edition, with a .05mm layer thickness, and a hollowed infill. There is no airbrushing involved and is painted with only craft store acrylic paints. 4 main colors are used and blended to paint shadows and light. Lets loot that dead lizardman, What's the worst that could happen?
Momma’s mushroom (Amanda Jines) Deep within the darkest and most treacherous caverns, somewhere in the middle of the forest, lives a magical mushroom – Remwood. Known as the death bringer by the locals that are familiar with its eerie call, the mushroom lures only the most desperate souls. This mushroom offers to grant your deepest hopes and desires, but it comes at a steep price only the hopeless are willing to pay. Often resulting in pain and suffering too gruesome to describe, your wishes will certainly leave you at death’s door, longing for death to end this nightmare. Beware if you ever hear the mushroom’s unnatural siren song! 8 main colors are used and blended to paint shadows and light. Following the entry rules there is nothing additionally added to enhance the model - no fake turf, minis, or additional items. Word has got out that a troll has been seen within the boundaries of Feywood. Tracks have been discovered leading through the forest floor. One brave Centaur races through the clearing hot on the heels with the uncertainty of what lies ahead.
This is my interpretation of the dangerous and mysterious mushrooms that can be found in this fantasy land.
I've added some chains because I felt like it was missing something, also I added a small marble bead to give it a bit more mystery to the gear. The tree pendant at the top of the stairs gives you a reason to want to walk up them. I hope you enjoy it.
A rare sighting, the blue toadcap mushroom is a sign of things to come in the Feywood.
In the forest, all appears mundane, yet when the night comes the mushrooms reveal their own secrets. My first try with object lighting on a model. I really liked the mushroom!
Printed on Prusa MINI+ using Fiberlogy Easy PLA Blue
Feywood Centaur printed and painted by me for the "Feywood print and paint competition". First time that I partecipate in a paint contest, was very funny and the model is a joy to paint, for the occasion I enjoyed trying out a skin color scheme that I had never thought of using. :)
Artist: Justin Lane - Critical Paint Model: Female Centaur hunter - Iain Lovecraft This was a fun and very interesting model to paint! many different textures and lighting transitions from fur to skin, I also took a chance at practicing NMM gold and I think it works very well on this peice, A beautiful model to paint!
Seeing this model, I immediatelly thought of "Hans and the beanstalk" . A powerful vine overgrowing an old dwarvish looking tower. Like in the fairy tale, the vine seems to be formed by magic, allowing its master to embed some old wood scraps from the ruin and emerge into a spiral staircase. In order to get the vibe of a place where plants grow magically large as buildings, i wanted to have a background exploding in colors and shapes. Therefore the photos were taken on an overgrown rooftop at sunset with additional mist by my pipe.
Dangerous and mysterious mushrooms to eat at your own risk
FDM printer (Elegoo neptune 2) with 0.4 noozle, 0.06 layer, PLA and Original size. This is awesome! It required 3 bad attempts and this last printing took 4.5 hours. I learned a lot about my printer. Better quality is probably only possible with a SLA printer, but that has to be won first ;)
Feywood Centaur
Acrid poison oozes from this giant toadstool. Some say it's guarded by the undead. Printed on the Anycubic Photon Mono. Made with: Vallejo acrylic paints, moss, dried lavender, flocking, Vallejo Water Texture and fishing line
Printed using Elegoo Standard Photopolymer Resin, primed with Army painter black and zenithal highlighted white and mounted on an old GW cavalry base. This was an interesting miniature to paint with lots of dynamism in the pose and interesting texture transitions.

Suspicious Mushroom
This is my contribution to the contest! Super beautiful and fun model to paint!
I don't have fancy schmancy paints [ I'm hoping to win some here! :) ] so this was painted using standard Plaid FolkArt acrylic craft paints with coats of Krylon Matte Finish Clear Coat spray paint. This was actually printed on the Elegoo Mars 2, but I didn't see that as an option in the printers list. This is one of my first attempts at resin printing, so... I hope y'all like it!
Hey why not
Kids Shroom The legend of the Galactic Mushroom is an ancient and mysterious tale that has been passed down for many generations. Legend has it that the planet Orile, a cold and dark planet many light years from here, is the original source of the Galactic Mushroom. The great lord of the stars used his Planet Staff to transport himself across the universe to Orile, where he retrieved the mushroom and brought it home with him. It is said that consuming a Galactic Mushroom will give you the ability to open a portal to another dimension. The only way to know what gifts the other dimension offers is to find a Galactic Mushroom and eat one yourself. From Lain Lovecraft’s Feywood, This is the Toadcap. The toadcap was printed on the Elegoo Mars 2 MMF Edition, with a .05mm layer thickness, and a hollowed infill. A very enjoyable mini to paint.

I tried filling a complaint but haven't heard a reply only from the crooked mods. One told me my entire was still up. Wonder what Nebo Nikolic think about thsi? I was told I lost this competition because I used LEDs and have no painting skills. Lian told me this himself. When I mentioned the winners main focal point was leds he told me to take it up with MMF, I have and have had no response but from a moderator on Discord he deleted my conversation with Lian on what he said to me and thinks it's ok what Lian said to me. This was a rigged competition. Here is my submission for the Iain Lovecraft’s Feywood Print & Paint Competition! Thank you for looking, I hope you enjoy it.
Printed with glow in the dark pla filament. Masked before priming, in order to preserve the glow on white spots. The detail too little to be masked were primed and later painted with glow in the dark powder mixed with acrylic white color. The bottom portion of the photo is a stacked 30 seconds image took in the complete darkness, added to demonstrate the glow.
Printed using the standard Elegoo resin. Both prints had significant artefact issues as can be seen in the shot of the print plate however, I was able to clean them sufficiently well to use as terrain with my Chaos Goblin (Creative Sculpt Studio pewter) warband. The colour scheme was chosen to complement the symbiotic relationship that this group of Gobbos have with the local fungi. Another interesting paint.
My take on it. Great model to paint :).
In a colorful fantasy land, there are stems of white mint on which mushrooms stand. There are rocks of chocolate with candies on green frosted lawn and there is also the majestic Feywood Toadcap Spawn.
Feywood Toadcap Spawn from Iain Lovecraft’s Feywood campaign. ps. do not eat!!!
Printed with anycubic mono and 3drs standard cool grey resin. Going for a mix of style fantasy and realism.
Super cute female centaur from Iain Lovecraft's Feywood set. Love the cartooney look and her face expression. A lot of fun to paint.
Lots of fun to paint this model. Interesting textures and lots of surface to play with. Added some dried plants and static grass to make a more lush undergrowth. But included a picture without this aswell.
My 8 year old tried her hand at mini painting. All we had on hand was apple barrel craft paint, and subpar brushes, and obviously it was printed on an fdm printer, but she did a good job, and listened to (most of) my advice haha. She even learned what all the slicer settings did and changed them to what she wanted.
Feywood Watchtower reimagined as an underdark watchtower grown from enchantde tree sized fungi and imbued with the light of faerie fire.
I wanted to use this wonderful model and really allow it to be a creature of the wild. An embodiment of the Fey and of Spring time.
Bloodcaps are found to be growing in the Feywood near strange, green glowing crystals. Their tendril like roots squirm and wriggle in the dirt looking for any kind of protein source to nourish itself. Wayward travelers beware as the roots have a tendency to wrap themselves around ankles.
Here's my execution of Feywood's Centaur - not great, not terrible. Pretty nice miniature. Nice and interesting because of a lot different textures and materials needed to paint on. Great subject for training purpose. Hope you like it. Pre-supperted file pirinted on classic Anycubic Photon, with Anycubic's skin tone resin.
Feywood Watch Tower by Iain Lovecraft. Added some LED lights and wrapped them around the stair case posts for railings. Foliage from Greenstuff world. Painted with some Vallejo / Folkart / Citadel and washed + dry brushed. Added a photo with lights off for reference
This is the centaur, printed on my Anycubic Photon Mono with Anycubic Gray Eco-Resin. Painted with Liquitex Basics Acrylic paint. Hope you like it. :)
Excellent Model, Super Detail. Had Great fun painting it up.
Could not decide which to print and paint so did all 3 together

A collection of Centaurs from Iain Lovecraft’s Feywood set
This is my interpretation of the Feywood Toadcap Spawn. I used both Vallejo paints and paints from the Citadel Colour Range. I used bright, unnatural colours to make it appear more magical, complimentary colours of blue and orange for a more interesting colour scheme, as well as delicate highlighting in certain places to suggest the visual of it glowing with heat.
Trying to replicate elements of toadstools found in the wild I went for purples and subtle shades of brown for the main body, but as Feywood is obviously a truly magical place the accents were painted gold. Painted using my daughter's Citadel paints - my first attempt at such a project, I hope you like it.
Realization with oil paint. The base is modeled and printed by me.
Legend tells of a race of giants able to eat these enormous mushrooms in a single bite.

Ian's Feywood Toadcap Spawn painted with Antique Copper tops, silver bottoms, and gunmetal spores then given a stone grey dry brush. The ground is a nutmeg base with khaki, forest and Kelly greens is various layers. The stones were painted pavement grey then shaded lighter with stone grey and a nutmeg dry brush. The entire piece is then given a rather light oil based burnt umber wash of my own recipe.
Toadcap Spawn from Iain Lovecraft’s Feywood collection. Found in the deepest parts of the Feywood forest this mushroom is told to have magical properties allowing whoever consumes it to learn the secrets of the universe. However, it is such as likely to lose one’s mind as there is a fine line between greatness and madness.
This is my diorama

3d printed on my ender 3 pro at 0.08mm layer height. I had fun painting this magical golden and rainbow colored Feywood Toadcap Spawn :D
the miniatures are painted with citadel colors printed with elegoo mars 2 pro. the tree is hand carved with super sculpey stucco while the base and the illuminated curls are carved with polystyrene I have added various scenic elements and synthetic herbs.
My entry of the Feywood Centaur for the print and paint competition. Very interesting sculpt. Lots of movement and tons of details that were fun to paint. When I saw this sculpt I imagined a bright female centaur huntress that is mid hunt, skidding to a halt as she just released a lethal arrow; revealing a sly smirk she knows her aim was true and deadly. Details like these made the sculpt a lot of fun and exciting. It holds its own as a stand alone sculpt, perfect for any fantasy adventure.
Wood centaur next to large spotted mushroom.
#feywood Mushroom print on Anycubic
These mushrooms look like dead yellow-white flesh, brown coagulated blood is visible in the cracks of the caps, dark bluish parts resemble cadaveric spots, and, possibly, speak of the poisonous and magical nature of these creatures
My entry for the Toadcap Spawn. Purple is probably my favorite color when I try and wet blend and try to make a mini really stand out. Wanted to make it so that it was evident you could see each stage of maturity of the mushroom becoming a richer purple as a stalk matures. Also took an old CD to give it a more secure base and expand upon the terrain around the big mush. Spackle to give the ground more definition, volume and texture, as well as some pink foam carved into extra stones.
The Bannermare, As the last of her Force, the Lady of the Wild Woods, carrier of the Antilope Banner of King Henri III, faces a horde of ancient undead Warriors. This piece is a heavily modified Version of the Centaur from Ian Lovecraft, because lets be honest, everybody loves a chivalric Centaur.
Painted with acrylics. I tried to recreate the mood from the Kikstarter comics. Hope you like it! :)
A hunting centaur in a magical Forest, can you spot her pray?
Feywood Centaur
Feywood Centaur on a Mystical Night Hunt
Here is my Feywood Centaur. I took a slightly different approach and rather than being a forest dwelling creature surrounded by lush green or dark underbrush she is more at home in the mountains. I was hoping the give the impression of a creature that lived at the edge of a volcano where the color of her hair is reflective with the surrounding flames and magma.
My entry for the Feywood Centaur. Unfortunately during the priming process she took a tumble and shattered both of her back ankles cutting down my paint time since I had to fix her quickly to make the entry deadline. Wanted to paint her like an American Paint and have the fall aesthetic of red leaves. Attempted some non-metallic gold on her armor and did some blending for a magicy/druidy looking bow.
The archer takes aim at the magic user up on the tower. Loosing cover from the toadstool, she lets loose an arrow just as the magic does its job protecting the tower.
My centaur for submission
This is the Feywood Centaur Archer. She was printed on my AnyCubic Photon Mono SE at .04 layer height and in Sunlu skin colored resin. The paints that I used were from The Army Painter Warpaints, Reaper Master Series Paint, and Citadel Paints. I printed off a regular square cavalry base and built up the scenery. She took some time, but the figure was really fun to paint. With some time, the supports came off easily with no damage to the figure. Awesome figure!!
Who doesn't love painting fur patterns? Such a cute gal.

Toadcap Spawn
print of Feywood toad cap spawn . Glows in dark with blacklight
I love this whimsical mushroom! I decided to paint it with both regular paint and UV reactive paint. I enjoyed working on this, but also a bit challenging as the UV inks are alcohol based and don't behave like regular paint at all! It was also a tricky to photograph the UV versions - they don't look as impressive on photo as they do to the eye. The blue and green blend together in the photos, and the overall colors are less bright. This was a fun competition. So many great entries. Good luck to all!

The Centaur (on Anycubic Mono SE)
This is a beautiful model that was a joy to paint and base.
The tower is an amazing piece with incredible details, was a joy to print and paint.
Feywood Toadcap Spawn Mushrooms are one of my favorites to paint as they come in so many shapes, sizes, and colors. This model lends itself to being creative.
I really like the tower is has many details that allow the painter to be really creative. Resubmitting the pictures as they didn't look right with the first submission.

My interpretation of the Feywood Centaur. Unfortunately the water effect of the puddle didn't turn out as intended but once poured I couldn't undo it without destroying the composition.

Feywood Watch Tower
Toadcap spawn
Hello everyone! This is a magical mushroom. I enjoyed painting it. I like the simplicity and have decided to present the first photo with a black background to avoid distracting elements, butuuuut I have also tried a background of an enchanted forest. I hope you enjoy it! Thanks!
The members of the court of silence are the protectors of winter, and the rest of nature. Everything living has the right to rest and regrow, and voe unto those who think that they can disturb the winter forest. Still a few are so unlucky to meet one of the guardians like Ly'rael who are more than ready to serve the vengeance of the wilds, whose arrow flies quicker than an unwary traveler can think of "this might not have been the best idea"
There are quite a few travelers, who venture into the feywild, and don't turn back after a few minutes. Those who endure might reach the verdant fungal grottos of the outskirts that are not under the influence of any courts of fae, and they can have some rest under the giant toadstools of the wilds.

Mushroom
"Within the forest of the fae, the mushrooms of magic and mystery grow. With a cap of shimmer purple and stalk of gold, danger is foretold." I used the Elegoo Mars 2 Pro to print the Feywood mushroom in resin before using Folkart acrylic paints to turn it into something mystical. (Including a color shift purple and a sparkle topcoat to give it an extra sheen and brightness). Then I took it into our little stretch of woods to photographic it in the wild.
Feywood Watch Tower by Iain Lovecraft. This pieces printed really well, and I enjoyed painting it. I wasn't too familiar with the background/lore of this model at first, so I made my own interpretation of the 'vines'. They seems to grow rampant through the entire structure, so I decided to go wild and give them a vibrant purple color to set them off from the other elements of the terrain piece.
