This Jackalope was inspired by album art from band Miike Snow's album iii. Made entirely out of half spheres, with rims to accentuate the dots.
Easier with dissolving supports, (I do not have that luxury so the supports are PLA made), this will be a complex long print. Print instructions below.
Use Cura's experimental tree supports, it can be found under Preferences --> Configure Cura --> Settings --> Experimental --> click both Tree Support and Tree Support Branch Angle. See my model "zebra stripes" on more detailed instructions how to set that up if that isn't explanatory enough
I personally prefer tree supports because they don't leave residual marks on the model, and are easier to remove since they are thin. they are more temperamental to deal with and are less sturdy if you are trying to support something very tall. Regular supports will work fine.
Tree support settings:
- Under Build Plate adhesion: Brim build plate
- Under Support: Generate Support box should be UNCHECKED, Support placement Everywhere, Support overhang angle of 70. Any support pattern (not applicable)
- Under Experimental: check off tree support, use branch angle of 40.
If done correctly, the tree supports should be both inside the hollowed area and outside the model.
At the base of the model is a "hole" where the inner supports are made. Start ripping those tree supports off. To remove the supports, you will need long nose pliers to reach all the areas, particularly around the inner head
