Printed on: Anycubic Kossel Linear Plus Delta 3D Printer
Material: PLA
Description
I blew the model up to 270mm tall to make use of the height available on my Kossel Delta.
Sliced at 0.1mm layer in Cura 4.6 with tree supports (the only type of supports I could make work with this standing tall model)
The color effect comes from using Silk Rainbow color changing filament from cc3dchina.com and is in many ways a lucky coincidence - there are blue, green, violet and other colors, and I accidentally started printing this just when the color started to change to gold and then bronze. So, accidentally gotten myself a perfect color combination for a small sculpture print. As far as stringing and other properties of this filament, there isn't really anything for write home about, but in this case was just the right filament for the job.
There is quite a bit of ringing going on, especially at the top of the print. Most of it comes from undersides of both arms that ended up still not being properly supported, and had some droopiness, which messed up few consequent layers. So, to make it a perfect print I still need to slice differently.
Printing this beautiful model has been a whole project in its own right, and as you see it still needs some work. I will probably document it on my blog https://elabz.com , and post Cura project files there because for a beautiful model like this slicing it properly is the key.
Thank you @jesperlindborg for creation of such a beautiful model
