OpenForge 2.0 Encounter: Shrine of Lamashtu
OpenForge 2.0 Encounter: Shrine of Lamashtu

I've decided to start a series of alignment based shrines. The first one is to Lamashtu, representing Chaotic Evil (I suspect the evil alignments will get more than just one of these). This shrine is to Lamashtu, Mother of Monsters. She's a signature villain in Pathfinder's Golarion, but she is a great villain to use in any fantasy rpg. Lamashtu is based on an ancient Mesopotamian demon. The historical mythological Lamashtu was a female demon, monster, malevolent goddess or demigoddess who menaced women during childbirth and, if possible, kidnapped their children while they were breastfeeding. She would gnaw on their bones and suck their blood, as well as being charged with a number of other evil deeds.
In Pathfinder, Lamashtu is an arch daemon who has achieved godhood, and she is known as "The Mother of Monsters". She is the mother and patroness of many misshapen and malformed creatures that crawl, slither, or flap on, above, or below the surface of the world.
In either case, she and her cult make a fantastic nemesis and big bad. I have also released a miniature of Lamashtu, with that ministure being the statue used in this encounter. Check the miniature release for the list of items remixed to create the Lamashtu miniature.

Parts of the shrine
First off, we have the statue to Lamashtu. She's attached to a cut stone 2x2 riser. I printed her on the anycubic photon. If you don't think your printer is up to printing it, Paizo sells a beautiful prepainted Lamashtu miniature that is based on the same artwork as my design.
Second, we have the braziers. Lamashtu is associated with both blue and red flame. For these, I filled the brazier with hot glue. I used blue ink on the first flame, and red and yellow inks on the second one. To achieve a good effect, I added in layers of hot glue, ink, hot glue, repeat. For the red flame, I used red ink lower in the flame, and yellow on the outer layers.
Third, we have the birthing pool. A place for the cultists of Lamashtu to bring their pregnant victims to birth horrors. For this I used 3 greens (Americana Evergreen, Hauser Medium Green and Hauser Light Green). The two darker ones I wet blended on the "water" surface to create a mottled effect. I then painted the bubbles with the light green. Finally I covered the whole pool with Woodland Scenics Water.
Finally, for the Lamashtu symbols, I painted those with a dark ochre, then used a brown ink to create some depth. Finally I used a light ochre around the edges to make the lines pop.
